Col dei Bos war remains

Descrizione

The Ospedaletti di Col dei Bos are located under the Torri del Falzarego, in a place that was sheltered from enemy fire during the war. In fact, these are the ruins of the treatment places where the wounded of the Italian army were taken and here are also the remains of the command post of the Ampezzo Dolomite front.

A hike through the Forcella Col dei Bos cannot be missed: a crossroads of more or less demanding paths that touch the Italian trenches of the Col dei Bos, its rear roads coming from the Val Costeana and the stones and improvised stations built by the Austrians while they were forced to retreat. In 1916, along the Forcella Col dei Bos, the Italian trenches ran from the Sasso Misterioso to the Castelletto della Tofana di Rozes: from here the soldiers looked out over the Val Travenanzes, which was mostly an Austro-Hungarian line of defence.
