Helmut Ullrich Astronomical Observatory

Description

Located in Col Druscié at 1,778 m above sea level, the Observatory managed by the Associazione Astronomica Cortina houses a 40 cm diameter Ritchey-Chretienda telescope and a 28 cm Schmidt Cassegrain telescope, used for visual observation of the deep sky, planets, of the Moon and the Sun and the imaging of galaxies for the search for supernovae, thanks to the very low light pollution here.

The Observatory can be reached by the Freccia nel Cielo cable car in the summer and winter seasons, or via a short walk from Pié Tofana along the Sentiero dei Pianeti and the Sentiero dell’Universo.

Discover the guided tours and the Observation of the Sun and the Stars.
