Olympic Special: where to ski during the games?

The winter of 2026 will be historic. Cortina will host the Olympic and Paralympic Games, turning the town into the center of the world. Here is how slope accessibility is organized to ensure an unforgettable experience for everyone:

  1. Until January 26, 2026: The entire ski area is open and accessible (except for technical closures on the Olympia and Labirinti slopes starting January 12).
  2. From March 16 to the end of the season: All areas return to full accessibility.
  3. During the Games (Jan 26 – March 15): You can still ski! While certain zones are reserved for competitions (Socrepes, Pomedes, Col Druscié, Ra Valles), 90 km of slopes out of 120 remain open.

Recommended Areas During the Olympics:

  • Faloria–Cristallo Area: A „natural balcony“ with a direct view of the Olympic competition slopes.
  • Lagazuoi and 5 Torri: Spectacular scenery and directly connected to Alta Badia.
  • Misurina, Auronzo, and San Vito: Ideal for those seeking peace and quiet outside the competition perimeter.

Useful info: safety and mobility

  • Safety on the Slopes: New regulations are in effect. Starting this season, helmets are mandatory for everyone, regardless of age.
  • Traffic & Transport: An enhanced urban and extra-urban transport plan is active.
  • Car Passes: Residents, workers, and seasonal skipass holders can request a car pass for the Olympic period via the dedicated portal.
