Description

From the centre of Cortina take the road in the direction of the Passo Falzarego. After passing the Ciasa Vervei restaurant and the little church of Vervei, leave the car on the right at the fork for the Fedarola mountain cottages, where the signs for the Rifugio Dibona are located. From the Fedarola crossroads, climb up following the beaten track and the signs for the mountain hut. After about 15 minutes, you’ll reach the Fedarola mountain cottages, rejoining the ski slope to Pocol. From here, continue along the road, which will take you to the Rifugio Dibona in about an hour.

There you’ll be able to enjoy an impressive view of the Tofana di Rozes, the Croda da Lago and the Lastoi de Formin.

The mountain hut, originally built during the Great War and later dedicated to the well-known mountain guide Angelo Dibona, has a large scenic terrace and offers excellent cuisine. Make sure you try the casunziei, tagliolini with blueberries, mascarpone and speck, and apple strudel.

For the return journey, follow the same route as the outward journey.

The route is not particularly difficult, except in terms of length, drop and variable snow cover conditions.

It is always advisable to rely on the Mountain Guides and consult the snow and weather service before any hike.

The indicated time is for a round trip.
