A walk that celebrates the harmony of the shoulder season, starting from the pastures of Malga Federa. Climbing along path 432, you enter a larch wood glowing in warm amber tones, reaching Rifugio Palmieri — where Lago di Croda da Lago becomes a clear mirror for the surrounding peaks. Retrace your steps briefly, then branch right onto path 457. In this hushed stretch of ups and downs and clearings, nature rewards a careful eye — among the fallen leaves, you might spot a fox's russet coat. From the panoramic Forcella Sonforcia, an intuitive, unmarked descent leads gently down into the valley (Cortina in view the whole way). Past Cason de Col Jarinel, follow the track through the woods (GPX recommended) until you meet path 432 again.
