Freccia nel Cielo gondola lift
Freccia nel Cielo gondola lift
The starting point for this hike is the Freccia nel Cielo gondola lift, behind the Olympic Ice Stadium. Take the lift to Col Druscié. Once you have left the mountain station, you will find a path descending towards Pié Tofana: walk along it until the junction with path 410, on your right, and take it. Continue past the Lago di In Po' Druscié, a heart-shaped snow pond, and continue along the same path between trees and glimpses of the Tofane, which loom imposingly to your left. After the junction with path 409, continue on path 410 down into the thickening forest until you reach Lago Ghedina, a magical place both for its mysterious beauty and because the events of some of the legends of the Dolomites took place here. It is said, for example, that the warrior prince Ey de Net came here to question the lake nymphs about the future of the kingdom in a night ritual. Also on the lakeshore is the Lago Ghedina restaurant, a refined spot for a gourmet lunch on the lakeside terrace or in the traditionally flavoured dining rooms. On the return journey, you can take the same path back to the cable car. We suggest, however, continuing along path 410 to the picturesque hamlet of Cadin, where the forest opens up, giving way to a beautiful view of Cortina. Continue along the road, normally with little traffic, to the hamlet of Ronco. Descend along the path that will take you to the new climbing hall and, after crossing a small bridge, back to the start of the Freccia nel Cielo cable car.
Ristorante Lago Ghedina, Masi Wine Bar al Druscié, Ristorante Col Druscié
Descending from the summit of Col Druscié, you can take path 409 instead of 410. The two outlets are close together and the paths follow a similar route. Along path 410, simply follow the signs for Lago Ghedina until you reach it. This option slightly lengthens the route time and presents an otherwise absent uphill section.
