Description

Easy historical-themed hike to discover the Castello di Botestagno (or Potestagno), once a strategic stronghold of medieval origin. The name in fact derives from the German Boite-Stein, meaning "rock on the Boite". In the vicinity of the fortress, illustrative tables will explain the castle's history and legends. Once you get to the top after an easy, quiet walk, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the entire Boite valley below, stretching as far as Cortina d'Ampezzo... the panorama is well worth the climb.
