PROGRAM - DAY 1 Using equipment and techniques for climbing on easy terrain: Ice climbing gear: features and how to use it. Basics of planning an ascent on frozen waterfalls. Analysis of objective dangers in ice climbing. How to tie in and belay a climbing partner using a toprope system. Correct use of ice axes and crampons. Basic movement patterns for climbing frozen waterfalls.

PROGRAM - DAY 2 Ice screw placement and introduction to vertical terrain: How to use ice screws. How to set up an anchor. Basic positioning for screw placement. Introduction to climbing on vertical ice.
