IN: Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti
Three students - with the same number of professional photographers as tutors - are the protagonists of the 2024 edition of Lagazuoi Photo Award New Talents celebrating high altitude photography. An immersive experience amidst the peaks of the Dolomites, giving rise to unpublished shots, videos and sounds on show at the Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti from 14 September to 20 October 2024.
The project is curated by Lagazuoi EXPO Dolomiti, the museum space located at the arrival of the Lagazuoi cable car.
In July, the participants selected from the Carrara Academy of Bergamo, the Italian Institute of Photography of Milan and the Officine Fotografiche of Rome were asked to spend five days at an altitude of 2,700 metres to perfect their techniques, confronting three experts, Damiano Andreotti, Alessio Romeo and Paolo Mazzo, with the aim of giving life to original and high-impact photographic projects.
For 2024, the Award renews its mission: to stimulate young photographers to explore the theme of mountains as a metaphor for challenge, overcoming and the search for new horizons. Through their creative gaze, participants are in fact called upon to recount the strength and fragility of the Alpine environment, the relationship between man and nature and the emotions that only high altitudes can arouse.
The best project will be awarded during an official ceremony scheduled for Saturday 14 September, but all participating students will still have the opportunity to see their works displayed in the exhibition.
