Description

A classic Dolomite stage 212 km long and with 5,700 m of elevation gain, the most demanding stage of the entire Giro d'Italia 2021. It starts from the historic Friulian town of Sacile, from the central Piazza del Popolo. Shortly after the start, go up to Cansiglio, famous for its woods (through the Passo della Crosetta from Vittorio Veneto) to descend to the beautiful city of Belluno and then climb back up to the historic city of Agordo facing the Passo Fedaia in sequence (a pass that gave Pantani the Maglia Rosa in 1998 – Pantani Mountain), Pordoi (Coppi peak) and the famous Passo Giau, offering unique views of the Dolomites and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the splendid Valle d’Ampezzo with the long and challenging descent to Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Queen of the Dolomites.
