From Cortina bus station, cover the first kilometres of this circuit on the cycle path in the direction of Carbonin. After only 4 kilometres you’ll reach the first highlight of the route. The route runs along a former railway road, which repeatedly crosses tunnels of varying lengths. Cycling through these tunnels is a unique experience. The first road to the pass awaits you after just under 13 kilometres. The Passo Cimabanche is the lowest connection point between Dobbiaco and the famous ski resort of Cortina d'Ampezzo. North of the pass are the Croda Rossa (3,148 m), the Picco di Vallandro, (2,839 m) and the Prato Piazza plateau (1,993 m) To the south, shortly after Carbonin, the first gravel trail begins, where the Monte Cristallo massif (3,221 m) is located. After the Passo Cimabanche, the route continues to Carbonin, where you will turn right onto the SS48. The SS48 then leads to Lago di Misurina, from which, in good weather, you can enjoy a splendid view of the Tre Cime, but the lake itself is also a unique spectacle. All around are the rocky massifs of the Tre Cime, Monte Piana, the Cadini group, Monte Cristallo and, further south, the Marmarole and Sorapiss. The lake hosted the speed skating competitions of the 1956 Winter Olympics. The route continues towards the Passo Tre Croci, which is tackled off-road. To tackle these steep sections you will have to take advantage of the last energy reserves left in this round. At the top of the Passo Tre Croci you can enjoy the last kilometres downhill towards Cortina d'Ampezzo and let yourself be enchanted by the splendid mountain view.
