Description

This is the name of the spectacular 40 km ski tour that, thanks to the lifts and ski slopes, takes you to the four Dolomite passes around the Sella Group.

Its route, accessible from Cortina, connects the four valleys of Gardena, Alta Badia, Arabba and Fassa.

It can be easily covered in a single day, in both directions. Clockwise (recommended) the signs are orange, counterclockwise they are green.

This ski tour is classed as medium difficulty and a good deal of physical preparation is required to complete it.

It is advisable to be at the last step by 3.30pm, as the return leg could prove to be difficult. In case of bad weather (snow or strong wind) some lifts may be closed.

Approach route:

From Son dei Prade, in the Pocol area, the Cortina Skyline cable car leads directly to the start of the Cinque Torri chairlift at Bai de Dones. From here you connect to the Lagazuoi lifts to cross, thanks to the long Armentarola slope, into Alta Badia where you can start the actual tour.

By car, from the centre of Cortina, take the road towards Passo Falzarego. After about twenty minutes, turn left near the Cinque Torri billboards to reach the Bai de Dones car park from where you can easily reach the chairlift.
