Cortina d’Ampezzo has its own language, a dialect that belongs to the Dolomitic Ladin area and has numerous derivations, including from the Celts and Raetians, as well as from the Latin of Imperial Roman times.

This ancient order, dating back to 1200, brings together the descendants of the original families of the Ampezzo Valley, the Regolieri, who manage the Cortina territory according to the Laudi, the ancient laws.
