VIA FERRATAS
Higher up, where only eagles dare to fly
If you love via ferratas, you’ll love taking your experience even higher than 3,000 m.
Cortina is a true paradise for climbing and mountaineering and has the most via ferratas in the Alps: over 30 routes of all difficulties where you’ll be able to touch some of the most beautiful peaks of the Dolomites.
To reach the starting points of many itineraries you can use the lifts which are open in summer – you just need a Vertical Pass.
Enjoy the mountains safely
Via ferratas are equipped routes in the mountains with metal cables, ladders and other fixed anchors, such as wooden walkways and suspension bridges. They offer the opportunity to enjoy a unique experience, which elevates both body and spirit on the Ampezzo peaks.
To give this a go you need to be in excellent physical condition and have the appropriate equipment that includes helmet, harness, gloves and a via ferrata kit: these can be hired from the many rentals in Cortina and guarantee that you can adventure in complete safety.
The length of the route, the altitude and the exposure can make it more complex to tackle.
For this reason, we always recommend doing via ferratas accompanied by an expert mountain guide.
