Unmissable route that starts from Mortisa and touches Lago d’Ajal and Lago di Pianozes, crossing spectacular rivers and woods. This route offers tranquility and wonder at every turn thanks to unexpected views and little-known sections. The whole thing unfolds to the west, in the area of Mortisa, Pòcol and Campo.
Starting from the characteristic village of Mortisa, head towards path 428 which begins at the end of the houses and you’ll immediately find yourself immersed in the woods in a surreal atmosphere. Along the way you’ll be able to admire the Becco di Mezzodì on one side and the majestic Antelao on the other, before finding yourself once again among trees and mighty rocks. Continuing along the path, you should find path 451 on your right, taking you directly to Pocòl.
This stretch of road is slightly uphill with a drop of about 250 m, but the beauty of the forest and the peace of nature will make every challenge rewarding. Once you reach the top, you’ll come out in the small village of Pocòl From here continue along the provincial road 638 (towards Passo Giau) until Peziè de Parù. Once you reach the area, turn left and take path 406, a path that tends to go downhill and is completely immersed in fir, larch and pine trees. Once you reach the crossroads with trail 431, take the latter towards Lago d’Ajal.
The basin is an unexpected pearl in the middle of the woods: it is common to find ducks and drakes that have made the place their home. From here continue along path 430 to Lago Pianozes and then arrive at Campo di Sotto.
Passing between the houses and heading towards the woods, take the uphill path 451 until it meets up again with 428, taking you back to Mortisa.
