DOLOMITI UNESCO

The Queen of the Dolomites

Cortina is Cortina, simply unique, like everything around it. The different Dolomite groups, with their spires and peaks, create a magnificent crown. There are 360° breathtaking views. All this has earned her the title of Queen of the Dolomites

Cortina is an ideal starting place to discover the Ampezzo Valley: vertical walls to climb, green valleys to visit, high-altitude pastures to rest in, but also forests, streams, lakes, canyons and waterfalls to explore.

The colours of the Dolomites

The Dolomia gives the mountains a special light shade: this is why the Dolomites are also called Pale Mountains.

At dawn and sunset, however, the Dolomia takes on a pink-ish to fiery red colour: the phenomenon, called Enrosadira, is a wonder of nature clearly visible on summer evenings, when the air is particularly clear and twilight is longer.
