Experience history hands-on

Over a hundred years since the end of World War I historical reenactors illustrate the events of the Great War on Mount Lagazuoi, an area of fierce fighting between the Italian army and the Austro-Hungarian army to give a tangible dimension to history. The historical reenactors wear uniforms to remember those who contributed to building peace, to express the will that such war atrocities do not happen again, and to convey the desire that knowledge of the recent past is not lost.

The fundamental difference between a historical reenactment and a staged use of uniforms and equipment is knowledge: a historical reenactor does not limit themselves to wearing the uniforms of the time. They recreate the environment and atmosphere that characterized life during that particular historical period. The reenactors are people who have dedicated many years to studying history, the aspects of military and civilian life of the era. They are individuals who wear uniforms to remember those who contributed to building peace, to express the will that such war atrocities do not occur again, and the desire that knowledge of the recent past is not lost.
