A: Stadio Olimpico del Ghiaccio
The Olympic Ice Stadium of Cortina d'Ampezzo will host another major sporting event. The renovated Ampezzo facility will be the theater of the Junior World Championships.
The event is scheduled from April 12 to 21: there will be ten intense days of competitions to award the 2025 world titles, both in the men's and women's categories. The first seven days are dedicated to the elimination phase, while the last two will see the semifinals and finals taking place.
The opening ceremony is scheduled for the evening of Saturday the 12th, always at the ice stadium. There will be 13 nations competing on the ice for the victory: these are Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Latvia, Norway, Scotland, Switzerland, Sweden, and the United States.
The World Championship, organized by the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation, will be the test event ahead of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games at the very venue that will host the competitions of the discipline. The facility, renovated in recent months to meet the highest standards, represents the ideal continuity between the 2026 Olympics and those of 1956, the first to be held in Italy: indeed, the Ampezzo stadium was the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as ice hockey and figure skating competitions, seventy years ago.
