On the last day of our multi-stage hike, leave the Rifugio Croda da Lago behind and descend along path 432 towards Malga Federa Once at the Malga, take the spectacular new Gores di Federa path, which passes through gorges, canyons and waterfalls, until it joins path 432. Continue along path 432 until you meet path 406, take it to the junction with path 431 then continue to the right as far as Lago d’Ajal. From the Rifugio Lago d'Ajal, continue downhill along path 430 until you reach Lago di Pianozes, and continue on to the typical Ladin village of Campo di Sopra. Walk along the dirt road of the former powder magazine to the Revis car park, where you begin to see the Cortina bell tower. The route ends at the centre of Cortina, after a loop of about 130 km and about 6,700 m of altitude difference, walking through Ladin villages, mountains, lakes and rivers that are among the most beautiful in the world. (Continues option B of stage 6). If you have spent the night at the Rifugio Cinque Torri, continue climbing along path 439 to Rifugio Scoiattoli and Rifugio Averau. From the Rifugio Averau, you can continue along path 464 in the direction of Rifugio Fedare, but turn before reaching it, i.e. when you meet path 452 leading to the Passo Giau and the Berghotel Passo Giau. If, on the other hand, you have spent the night at Malga Giau, go back up along path 444 and then path 443 to the Berghotel Passo Giau and cross the road to take path 436 to Forcella Ambrizzola. From here, take path 434 leading to the Rifugio Croda da Lago, descend along path 432 towards Malga Federa Once you arrive at the Malga, take the spectacular new Gores di Federa path that passes through gorges, canyons and waterfalls until it joins path 432. Continue on path 432 until it meets path 406, take it to the junction with path 431 then continue to the right as far as Lago d’Ajal. From the Rifugio Lago d'Ajal, continue downhill along path 430 until it crosses path 428. Take path 428 turning left, in the direction of Mortisa, a typical Ladin village of Cortina d'Ampezzo. Once in the village, proceed along the road to the centre of Cortina, visually following the bell tower as a landmark. When you reach the centre of Cortina, you’ll conclude the walk through the beauty of the Ampezzo Dolomites.
