Description

From the car park near the characteristic Malga Peziè de Parù, take path 406, also known as the Allaria path, which will take you to the Locanda del Cantoniere in about 30 minutes. Then continue to the junction with path 403 and, once at the junction, go right in the direction of Baita Resch. From here, take path 406 back to the starting point. All three rest stops on the route are excellent stops for a snack, a drink or a traditional lunch, as well as for enjoying a warm, typically Alpine atmosphere and traditional, authentic cuisine. At Baita Resch you will find loungers to relax on during the summer, an enchanting view of the Valle d’Ampezzo, and a well-equipped play area for the little ones. The Locanda del Cantoniere, on the other hand, is a distinctive red building erected on the remains of a First World War construction. It was the home of the railway worker who was responsible for the maintenance of the Dolomite Road, an enchanting crossing between Alpine passes and valleys. Today, the hotel-restaurant is an example of an eco-sustainable tourism building in the mountains. Finally, Malga Peziè de Parù is a beautiful traditional mountain cottage, located in the middle of a beautiful mountain pasture and surrounded by woods and mountains. It has a large outdoor terrace and a renowned cuisine.
