Tofane round trip

Partenza

Cortina d'Ampezzo

Arrivo

Cortina d'Ampezzo

Descrizione

Intense sporting activity on an exceptional scenic route, with views of the Cinque Torri, Nuvolau, Averau and Croda da Lago, and a short passage in the stunning Val Travenanzes. The route winds east, crossing the entire Tofane area.

Start from the centre of Cortina and take the former railway cycle path towards Fiames. Once you reach the crossroads for Cadin, leave the cycle path and take the road towards the village. Go past the houses and take path 410 on the right to Lago Ghedina. Here you’ll find a body of water that will leave you breathless, a small hidden gem.

Go past the restaurant and on the right take path 409 towards Cianderou – Passo Posporcora which will take you along the majestic Tofana. From here you’ll enjoy a sublime view over the entire Valley and you can savour the air of the forest around you. Keep to the right going downhill until you cross path 401 which will take you to Val Travenanzes: a narrow, singular valley, it will make you feel as if you have gone back in time. Once you reach Cason di Travenanzes, take path 404 which will take you up a slight climb to Forcella Col dei Bos, the highest point of the route. After Forcella Col dei Bos the descent towards the valley begins: take path 402 and after the first bends turn left onto path 412 to reach the well-known Rifugio Dibona and then again onto path 403, leading to the Fedarola mountain cottages.

This part of the route is very scenic – you’ll be able to admire all the beauty and diversity that characterises Cortina.

Keep on path 403 passing near the Rifugio Baita Resch and the Il Cervo Restaurant in Pocol, then continue to Lacedel-Meleres and then descend to Cortina where you started.
