Trail Running route that winds along the old railway, between Cortina and Dobbiaco, among woods and lakes.
The route offers breathtaking views of the Croda Rossa, the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the lakes Dobbiaco and Landro.
The route winds north of the Valle d’Ampezzo, in the Fiames area. Starting from the centre, take the former railway towards the north (towards Fiames), and follow it all the way. The route is flat and gentle, offering a delightful view of Cortina and some of its hamlets crossed by the cycle path. This route runs from north to south and takes its name from the fact that until 1964 it was the route of the Dolomites Train which started from Calalzo, passed through Cortina and arrived in Dobbiaco.
Continue along the path, pass the “Antonella De Rigo” sports centre, and continue towards Dobbiaco.
The route offers passages under tunnels, suspension bridges and dedicated points to admire the peaks of the Dolomites. The road is fairly flat, with occasional slight climbs. Along the route it is finally possible to admire both Lago di Landro and Lake Dobbiaco.
The cycle path will take you to the train station in Dobbiaco, where you can take transport back to Cortina or continue further.
